American Kaillie Humphries won the race with a combined time of 1 minute 58.97 seconds, with Walker finishing at 1:59.10.
The good news? Walker is in peak form for the Winter Games, having had her best World Cup season ever, with three race wins in Lillehammer, Sigulda, and St Moritz.
Meanwhile, at the Chinese winter resort of Dongbeiya, Baff and Lambert also had stellar performances. Baff secured silver in the women's final, while Lambert clinched bronze in the men's event. This achievement propelled them to the top of their World Cup standings, earning them the coveted yellow leader's bibs.
"It absolutely does feel like an honour," said Lambert. "Obviously, just two races into the season anything can happen, but for now I will savour the feeling and to do it at the same time as Josie, who was my neighbour for most of my childhood, is a special privilege."
Baff's silver medal marked her 16th World Cup podium finish, while Lambert's bronze was his 8th.
