Just as the new season is about to kick off, a bold move has shaken the rugby world: Championship club Midlands Hurricanes have announced a sudden relocation to a new stadium, leaving fans and critics alike buzzing with questions. This partnership, according to Midlands chair Mike Lomas, is a game-changer. “The move to Avery Fields cements rugby league in Birmingham for another two decades,” he stated. “It unites a rugby league club and a rugby union club with a shared mission: to get more young people playing rugby. This is a truly exciting development.” Lomas also extended gratitude to Bournville’s Alistair, Phil, and Siggers, as well as Birmingham City Council and the Alexander Stadium team, for their unwavering support.
