A Heartfelt Tribute to a Man of Many Passions
It is with profound sorrow that we bid farewell to Miles Ludlow Carpenter, a man whose life was a testament to the power of family, community, and personal growth. Miles, a beloved father, husband, and grandfather, passed away on January 7, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication.
Born in the charming town of Oakville, New Brunswick, Miles grew up in Marysville, where he developed a strong sense of community and a love for the outdoors. After graduating from Fredericton High School, he pursued his dreams at the University of South Florida, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. This academic foundation paved the way for a successful career in the provincial government.
But it was his personal life that truly defined Miles. In 1972, he met the love of his life, Fernande Robichaud, and they quickly fell in love. Their marriage was a beautiful blend of shared values, with a strong emphasis on volunteering, church, and community service. Together, they spent 48 years building a life filled with love and laughter, until Fernande's passing five years ago.
Miles' passion for genealogy became a driving force in his retirement. He dedicated countless hours to researching the Carpenter family tree, writing two books, and organizing family reunions. His love for his family was boundless, and he cherished every moment spent with his children, Michelle and Jamie, and his grandsons, Jake and Riley. He also found joy in gardening, fishing, hunting, reading, and woodworking, always seeking new adventures and experiences.
Miles' involvement in various organizations was a reflection of his commitment to community. He was an active member of Scouting, the Knights of Columbus, and numerous committees. His retirement allowed him to focus more on these interests, and he embraced the opportunity to give back.
A Life Well-Lived, A Legacy Well-Deserved
Miles' passing has left a void in the lives of his loved ones, but his memory will forever be cherished. He is survived by his children, Michelle and Jamie, and their spouses, Brent and Jennifer, respectively. He is also survived by his grandsons, Jake and Riley, and their families, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will gather for a visitation on Sunday, January 11, 2026, from 1-4 PM at Bishop's Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass on Monday, January 12, at 11 AM at Holy Family Parish Church. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Miles' life was a testament to the power of giving back, and his memory will live on through the impact he had on others.
